STEWART AND FINDLAY FINISH DOWN

THE FIELD AT MYRTLE BEACH

Scottish boys' match-play champion Michael Stewart from Troon and former British boys champion Jordan Findlay from Fraserburgh - both students at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City - finished joint 29th and joint 68th respectively in a field of 80 players for the General Hackler Collegiate championship at TPC of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina today
Freshman Stewart, pictured right by courtesy of Tom Ward Photography, had rounds of 76, 72 and 79 for a total of 11-over-par 227 over the par-72, 6950yd course. He had been sharing 13th place until his final round which was played in temperatures up in the 70s (a bit of a contrast to Ayrshire on a March day!)
Senior (final-year) student Findlay shows no sign of coming out of the form slump that has dogged him for months. He had scores of 78, 81 and 81 for 25-over-par 241.
Matt Hill (North Carolina State) was the individual winner with socres of 74, 70 and 69 for 213. He won by three shots from Zack Byrd (Coastal Carolina).

East Tennessee State (898) tied for fourth place behind team winners Wake Forest (881).
