South Atlantic Ladies Amateur Championship in Florida

Stephanie Meadow shares halfway lead

as Louise Kenny, Lucy Gould improve

Dunfermline's Louise Kenney improved by six shots with a second-round, one under par 71 for a halfway tally of four-over 148 in the South Atlantic Ladies Amateur stroke-play championship ("The Sally") at Oceanside Country Club, Ormond Beach, Florida.
Kenney was on the same 148 mark inside the leading 10 players as Welsh international Lucy Gould (Bargoed) who is studying for a Masters degree at East Tennessee State University. Lucy had a second-round 72.
Kenney and Gould are both members of the Curtis Cup preliminary squad for the June match at Essex County Club, Massachusetts. So too is US-based Stephanie Meadow from Northern Ireland.
Stephanie, a student at a junior golf academy in South Carolina, is sharing the lead with American Candace Schepperle (73-68) on 141 after rounds of 71 and 70.
Scottish Under-21 champion for the past two years and third in "The Sally" last year, Stirling University student Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar) was another to slash strokes off her first-day effort. Kelsey followed up an 80 with a level-par 72 for 152.
Majorca-based Ranfurly Castle member Lauren Mackin had a 75 for 154.
English women's amateur champion Charlie Douglass (Brocket Hall) disappointed with an 82 for 160.
Aberdeen student Jane Turner (Craigielaw) and Stirling student Rachel Cassidy (The Island, Dublin) are both on 163. Jane had a second-round 80, Rachel an 83.
