Ladies European Tour Final Qualifying School

Lynn Kenny, Pamela Feggans now

joint fourth at La Manga halfway

FROM THE LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR WEBSITE
Beth Allen of the United States pulled a shot clear of the field after the second round of LET Final Qualifying School at La Manga in the Murcia region of south-east Spain today.
The 27-year-old from San Diego in California added a two-under 71 to her opening 70 for a 36-hole total of five-under-par 141.
”I hit 17 greens today and I hit 18 yesterday so I’ve only missed one in two days and I’ve had six three-putts,” said Allen, who practises at Sycuan Resort and Torrey Pines near her home. “The putting is a little dodgy at the moment but I want to play a full season over here. I enjoyed it last year and I think it will be a great experience. Hopefully the rest of the week will go well.”
At the end of a clear but breezy day, Allen led by one over Spain’s former British women's open amateur champion, Elisa Serramia, and Finland’s Jenni Kuosa.
Serramia, the 2005 Rookie of the Year on the LET, shot a four-under 69, which was the joint lowest round of the day.
Frances Bondad, Anna Nordqvist and Lynn Kenny (pictured above by Cal Carson Golf Agency), also shot 69 and tied for fourth place on two-under-par 144 with India’s Smriti Mehra (70), Scotland’s Pamela Feggans (72), Paraguay’s Julieta Granada (72) and Belgium’s Lara Tadiotto (74).
Meanwhile Laura Eastwood’s 69 took her into a share of 32nd position.
After 72 holes, the top 50 and ties out of 95 players will be given a place on the Ladies European Tour, with the leading 30 given a higher category of membership offering the opportunity to play in most of the events on the 2009 LET calendar.
After Wednesday’s third round, a cut will be made to the leading 50 players and ties. Players will be ranked according to scores on Thursday evening.
