Fiona Farquharson has been

18 times champion of

King James VI club, Perth

FROM COLIN FARQUHARSON
Former SLGA staff person Pam Kerr suggested to me that SLGA tournament officer Fiona Farquharson had a formidable collection of club titles which was worth a mention in our series of multi-club champions.
I E-mailed Fiona (pictured right) for the details and here is her reply:
"I joined King James VI Golf Club, Perth in 1986. I won the King James VI ladies' championship from 1986 – 1995 (10 consecutive times), and again in 1997, 1999 - 2001, 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2008. So far I have won it 18 times. In most of the unsuccessful years I was the beaten finalist.
"I started at the SLGA in January 2005 and I don’t play nearly as much golf nowadays! Perhaps that’s why I didn't win in 2005 and 2006!
"I also won quite a number of club championship titles at Camperdown with many of them consecutive but I don’t have the precise details.
"As there are many ladies already listed with far more consecutive wins than me, I am sure that I don’t need to bother to find out."

Thanks, Fiona. More grist to the mill!
